TurnSignal

The TurnSignal algorithm is a complex blend of well-established and proprietary analysis techniques which identify individual characteristics of the price movement to determine when the market direction is changing. When our calculations show that the market is moving to the upside, there is an audio alert, and the bars on the chart are colored green. When our calculations show that the market is moving to the downside, there is an audio alert, and the bars on the chart are colored red. While the market maintains a direction, TurnSignal is designed to keep the color of the bars on your chart the same for as long as possible. These color changes very often make excellent places to look for entry points because they occur very close to the tops and bottoms of recent market movements.

Pivot Lines and Pivot Median:

Pivot Lines mark the highest high and lowest low of the recent price movement. The Pivot Median is the midpoint between the upper and lower Pivot Lines.

The Pivot Lines help us to visualize price breakouts and areas of congestion. Prices "breakout" when they move up through the Upper Pivot Line or down through the Lower Pivot Line. Prices are congested when the price is running within the Pivot Lines.

The Pivot Median can be used to measure the depth of a pullback. The Pivot Lines will help you to see when the price has moved out of it's range and also can be used to identify exits when price moves end and the market turns.

Fast, Medium, and Slow Lines:

These three indicators are provided to give us another way to visualize momentum in order to locate entries.

The Fast line is calculated so that it follows along the tops of the price bars during a downward move and along the bottoms of the price bars during an upward move.

The Medium and Slow lines are calculated using the same arithmetic at the same time as the Fast line but are each designed to trail the price at a slower pace. Just as the price bars are able to move above and below the Fast line, the Fast line is able to move above and below the Medium and Slow lines to help us identify momentum. The Slow line also makes an excellent trend indicator because the shorter term price activity takes place above or below the Slow line while the market is trending.

Oscillator:

The Oscillator shows us the direction of the market momentum along with the strength of the market momentum.

When the Oscillator is above the zero line and green, the momentum is up and accelerating. When the Oscillator is above the zero line and red, the momentum is up but weakening.

When the Oscillator is below the zero line and red, the momentum is down and accelerating. When the Oscillator is below the zero line and green, the momentum is down but weakening.

By looking at the direction, color and size of the bars, you can use the Oscillator to fine-tune your  view of market momentum.

Market Activity:

Our Market Activity indicator is specifically designed for use with Tick and Volume charts. If the price bars form quickly, the blue bars in the histogram are longer. If the price bars form slowly, the blue bars in the histogram are shorter. This shows how active the market is for each bar on the chart, based on the time it takes for each bar to form. We have overlayed the histogram with an exponential moving average of the tops of the blue bars. This moving average line allows you to see, at a glance, if the bars are forming faster or slower to help you determine Market Activity.  You can also see if the activity in the current bar rising or declining if the blue bar is above or below the average line.

All The TurnSignal Indicators:

As you can see, placing all The TurnSignal Indicators on the chart at the same time will let you see market momentum in several different ways at a glance. The choice of indicators is up to you and depends on the kind of information you want to track at any given time. We have created separate indicators so you can customize your chart to suit your personal trading style.  TurnSignal  let's you see what is going on in the market "right now", so you can simplify your trading decisions.
